Turning a little apartment by the sea into a stay worth packing for
A little apartment. A very lovely location. And a copywriter who happens to know it pretty damn well.
Some copy projects feel a little extra special. This was one of them.
Lavender Apartment is a small, family-run holiday apartment in Piran, a charming coastal town on Slovenia’s teeny-tiny stretch of coastline. It also happens to be my hometown, which meant I wasn’t exactly starting from zero when it came to selling the place. I know the narrow little streets, the sea views, the restaurants worth stopping at and just how lovely it is when you can step outside your door and walk pretty much everywhere.
That feeling became a big part of the website.
The apartment gives you a comfortable place to stay right in the middle of everything, while Piran gives you plenty of reasons to actually get out and explore. Mornings by the sea, evenings wandering through town, good food around the corner, and local recommendations from a family who knows the place inside and out.
So across four pages, I wrote the website to introduce the apartment, show off Piran, share the family behind the stay and make potential guests feel like they already had a local in their corner.
You can see the whole website HERE.
What was the project?
Lavender Apartment is a family-run holiday apartment in Piran, a small coastal town in Slovenia. The website needed to introduce the apartment, communicate its biggest selling point (its central location) and give potential guests enough information and confidence to book.
The project was about more than selling four walls and a place to sleep. We wanted potential guests to picture the whole experience: staying steps away from the sea, wandering around town on foot, finding the good food and getting recommendations from locals who actually know Piran.

Who were we talking to?
The kind of traveler who wants to settle into a place and enjoy it without turning their holiday into a logistical side quest.
Think couples planning a coastal escape, solo travelers looking for somewhere comfortable and easy, and people who would much rather explore a town on foot than spend their holiday hunting for parking.
Location and convenience matter to them, but there are plenty of smaller questions happening in the background too. Will I feel comfortable here? Can I walk everywhere? What can I do nearby? Where should I eat? Who am I actually booking with? The website needed to answer those questions naturally while giving people plenty of reasons to picture themselves there.
What was the goal?
Make people want to book a few days in Piran, with Lavender Apartment as their home base.
The location gave us a very good place to start. Lavender Apartment sits in the heart of Piran, within walking distance of the sea, restaurants, sights, and pretty much everything you’d want to explore. That became one of the main threads running through the website.
From there, I wanted to make the whole stay feel easy to picture. Show guests what they could do while they were there. Give them genuinely useful local recommendations. Introduce the family behind the apartment. Answer the practical questions. And make going from “Ooh, this looks nice” to “Should we book it?” feel pretty damn easy.
By the time someone reached the booking page, they already had a sense of the apartment, the town, the people hosting them, and the kind of trip they could have there.
The website needed to accomplish three things:
Sell the location. The repeated positioning around being “in the heart of Piran” and “just a few steps away from the sea” makes location one of the property's strongest differentiators.
Make the stay feel easy. Walkability, nearby restaurants, local recommendations, getting around, what's nearby, and practical apartment information reduce the amount of figuring-things-out the guest has to do.
Build trust in a small, family-run accommodation. We’re not relying on the instant familiarity of Hilton or Marriott, so we needed to try a little harder to build trust.. The family story, guest reviews, local recommendations, apartment photos, specific details and straightforward booking process all make the business feel real and credible.
So the strategic goal wasn't merely “get bookings.” It was more like turn a small family-run apartment into a stay travelers could picture themselves choosing by selling its location, local experience and personal touch, while making the decision to book feel simple.
A few of my favorite bits
Location, location, location
Why I love it:
When someone’s choosing a holiday apartment, location is a huge part of the decision, so I wanted to put Lavender Apartment’s strongest selling point front and center. “In the heart of Piran” tells you you’re staying right where everything is happening, while “just a few steps away from the sea” gives you something much easier to picture (and get excited about). It also does all of that without making the reader work for it. Within one sentence, you know where the apartment is, why the location is worth paying attention to, and one of the biggest perks of staying there.
Making “family-run” mean something
Why I love it:
“Family-run” sounds lovely, but on its own, it doesn’t tell a potential guest much about what their stay will actually be like. So I wanted to connect it to something useful: this apartment is hosted by people who grew up in Piran and genuinely know the place. That gives the family story a purpose. Guests know there are real people behind the apartment, and those people can point them toward the restaurants, beaches, sights, and little local gems they might never find on their own. It adds personality to the brand while giving visitors another reason to trust who they’re booking with.
A local guide, built right into the website
Why I love it:
Most holiday apartments spend their entire website talking about the apartment. But when you're selling a stay in Piran, the town is a pretty big part of what people are coming for. Adding genuinely useful local recommendations helps position the hosts as people who actually know the area (hello, trust), gives future guests a little taste of their trip before they arrive, and creates more opportunities to show up when someone is Googling what to eat, see, and do in Piran. Helpful for the guest. Good for SEO. And a sneaky little way to start being a great host before they’ve even booked.
Making booking feel like the easy part
Why I love it:
Contact forms are usually treated like the boring admin bit at the end of a website, but this is exactly where people can start second-guessing what happens next. Am I making a reservation or sending an inquiry? Is my booking confirmed when I hit submit? When will I hear back? So the copy answers those questions right next to the form. Guests know that the hosts will check their dates, get back to them with the details or alternative options, and that their stay is only officially booked once they receive confirmation. It’s a small bit of copy doing a surprisingly important job: removing uncertainty right at the moment someone is ready to take action.
So, what did we do?
The goal was pretty simple: make Lavender Apartment feel like an easy yes for travelers planning a trip to Piran.
We led with the thing guests care about most: an incredible location right in the heart of town. Then we gave them everything they needed to picture the rest of their stay, from what the apartment feels like to where they could eat, what they could explore, and who would be there to help along the way.
Throughout the website, we:
→ Put the location front and center, so one of the apartment’s biggest selling points was impossible to miss
→ Connected the family-run story to something genuinely valuable for guests: local knowledge, recommendations, and people they could trust
→ Created an entire Experiences page to help visitors plan their trip, showcase more of Piran, and give the website more opportunities to appear in relevant local searches
→ Used specific details, guest reviews, FAQs, and practical information to answer questions before they turned into hesitation
→ Made the inquiry process clear, so guests knew exactly what would happen after they hit send
Every page had its own job, but they all worked toward the same thing: helping someone picture a few days in Piran and making Lavender Apartment feel like a pretty damn good place to spend them.
